Rocky Mountain National Park is just minutes from downtown Estes Park. We may be biased, but we think this is the most beautiful national park in the US. There is always something to do in Rocky Mountain National Park. There are more than 365 miles of extraordinary hiking trails, amazing day trips, and incredible wildlife and views.
Rocky Mountain National Park is the 3rd most visited national park in our nation. The summer and autumn months experience high volumes of traffic. Make the most of your mountain getaway and plan ahead. Visit Rocky Mountain National Park to learn the ideal times to hit the trails, the most up-to-date weather information, and the ranger-led activities. Our park rangers offer activities for children and adults - a junior ranger program, wildlife lectures, and stargazing from Trail Ridge Road. There's always something fun to do in Rocky Mountain National Park!
Our favorite things to do are: go for scenic drives, watch for wildlife, have a picnic, fishing, horseback riding, drive on Old Fall River Road (a dirt road going one-way to the Alpine Visitor Center), drive across Trail Ridge Road (the highest continuous highway in the US), soak in the alpine tundra, visit the Alpine Visitor Center (open May-Oct), go snowshoeing (Oct-April) or hike the miles and miles of trails!
NOTE: please take a few minutes to review the National Park Service website for all details related to visiting Rocky Mountain National Park.
